of the Liver & Lights Scriptorium….

momentous Raft festival
John Bently will be in residence
surrounded by his books
at the legendary Horse Hospital
for one night only….
Join him!
His ongoing series of publications
have evolved dramatically
over the course 65 editions in 38 years
(so far), from
punk poetry fanzine into DIY manifesto;
from a celebration
of discarded things into a celebration
of discarded communities,
from heartfelt memorial to ranting pamphlet
and all stations in between.
A lifelong celebration
of the possibilties
of the book as a medium for art;
a repository of low budget reprographics and
an uncompromising chronicle of real lives
lived in strange times…….
This evening will consist of a
unique hands-on opportunity
to explore all 65 books in the series,
including prototypes,
graphics and secret sketchbooks and
followed by an interview
with the artist
conducted by Chiara Ambrosio herself
and
culminating in a unique
live performance of
the rarely performed
Deptfordia (Liver & Lights No 20)……
